Newsletter, Mailing Lists, and Marketing, OH MY!

I am terrible at marketing myself. I am confident in my writing ability (most of the time) but have zero confidence when it comes to making graphics, posting content, and doing promo. But, I am trying.

I’ve been sending out a newsletter once a month (for the most part) for several years but I don’t get a ton of interaction from it. I have a few very loyal readers who I love endlessly, and I get an okay percentage of opens and clicks, but I know I could be doing more.

So, here I am!

What is Substack?

I’m not entirely sure? Like I said, I’m still figuring this out. But I think it’s like if a newsletter and blog made sweet sweet love and had a bouncing internet baby. At least, that’s my understanding. If you already get my newsletter, nothing should change except maybe the look of the email.

The basic newsletter will always be FREE. You don’t have to pay anything to get my monthly (hopefully) ramblings. You’ll hear about my writing process and author journey including new releases and behind-the-scenes excerpts and freebies, and sometimes I’ll get personal. About my life, my mental or physical health, or the state of the world. So, be prepared for that.

I guess that’s it for now. My regular newsletter is going out tomorrow afternoon. I will make sure to update here as well, in case this didn’t port over. I am not tech savvy. I just like writing stories about my imaginary friends.
